THE 10-TH RENJU WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AND GOMOKU WORLD CUP : SUMMARY

Dear friends!

The Renju World Championship and the Gomoku World Cup - 2007 have finished.
As the tournament director I wish to sum in this message up.

80 participants from 10 countries took part in several tournaments. Nearly 70 participants and guests came to Tyumen.
More then 20 Tyumen players took part in tournaments.

From 6 to 15 August we have lead 8 tournaments in Renju, Gomoku and Connect6:

In Renju:
1. The Renju International Qualification Tournament (QT) ? 24 participants from 10 countries
2. The Final of the 10-th Renju World Championship (AT) ? 12 participants from 5 countries
3. The Final of the 10-th Renju World Championship (women) (WT) ? 8 participants from 2 countries
4. The Renju International Open Tournament (BT) ? 30 participants from 9 countries

In Gomoku:
5. The Gomoku World Cup (GT) ? 40 participants from 8 countries
6. The Gomoku World Cup (women) (GWT) ? 10 participants - 1 country
7. The Gomoku Blitz Tournament ? 32 participants from 6 countries

In Connect 6
8. The Connect6 International Open Tournament (CT) ? 36 participants from 6 countries

It means that nearly every day we have had 3 tournaments.

About 20 participants had free-of-charge accommodation ? 12 AT players, 2 referees, world champion in WT and some foreign players.
All participants and guests had 50% discount for dinner. All children had free-of-charge dinners.

We published all important games AT and QT in ?live-show? in internet. Tables of results, photos and etc. were everyday on official web-pages on the Renju World Championship and Gomoku World Cup.
5 TV channels, more then dozens newspapers and magazines every day made information about Renju World Championship and Gomoku World Cup. We made it so that the Championship was really important events in Tyumen region during two weeks. The Government of Tyumen region helped to us.

We had a lot of work at this time. Practically for a dream we had 2-3 hours. But it were pleasant cares. Probably not everything, that would be desirable, was good. There were mistakes, delays. But the main thing has been made. It was not possible to make without the help to us. I would like to express gratitude to all those who helped us. Many thanks all who has responded also who helped to us. Many thanks to our guest - to our old and new friends from all the world!
